Quick Answer
There is no unstuck button, so try moving out first, then force-close the game and relaunch right away. A forced restart often brings you back free with your gear, but it can also drop you back in the same spot. Never quit normally or wait for the AFK kick outside the FOB: both cost you everything you are carrying.
How to do unstuck on Gray Zone Warfare before disconnecting?
Try to move out yourself first, but do not spend long on it.
Try every movement once
Jump, crouch, go prone and try to vault back the way you came. Jumping and crawling often do not free a character wedged into terrain, so if nothing moves after a few tries, stop.
Check it is not a control problem
If you stopped responding right after vaulting two obstacles in a row, that was a bug fixed in Patch 0.4.7.0. On a current version, make sure your Gray Zone Warfare keybinds are not the issue before you restart.
Note where you are
Remember the exact spot and what you were doing. You will need it if you end up filing a support ticket.
How can you recover a stuck character without losing equipment in PvE or PvP?
Force-close the game and relaunch right away. This is the best way to get out while keeping your kit.
| Method | What usually happens |
|---|---|
| End the game in Task Manager and relaunch | You come back free with your equipment, or back in the same stuck spot |
| Pull the network cable or put the PC to sleep | You return to base with your loot, or back in the same stuck spot |
| Quit to menu | You return to base and lose all your gear |
| Wait for the AFK kick | You lose all equipment and items on your character |
If the restart puts you back in the same spot, try it once more, then move to a support ticket.
Disconnecting can also reset your current tasks, so you may need to accept and finish them again.
Will quitting, disconnecting, or going AFK lose your equipment?
Quitting and the AFK kick both cost your gear. A forced disconnect is the only way out that can keep it.
After 15 minutes without activity the game removes you, and if you are outside the FOB you lose all equipment and items on your character. Lost gear is not compensated. Quitting to the menu outside the FOB sends you back to base without your kit too.
If reconnecting itself fails with errors, that is a server problem; check Gray Zone Warfare server and connection errors.
What should you do if your character stays stuck?
File a support ticket with MADFINGER Games and include your exact position.
Check if your spot was already fixed
Update 0.5 fixed these stuck spots. If yours is one of them, update the game first.
| Area | Fixed stuck location |
|---|---|
| All base camps | Shooting Range ground |
| All starter towns | Rocks and post near Town Hall |
| All starter towns | Rock gap near Hilltop Villas |
Fill in the support request
In MADFINGER Games Community Care, open Submit a request and pick Gray Zone Warfare under Game. Fill in Type of issue, User ID, Username/Nickname, Steam ID, Position and Game Version, describe how you got stuck under Description, and attach a screenshot of the spot.
A ticket reports the spot; it does not rescue you or refund gear right away, so do not sit AFK waiting for it. If you died trying to get out, see Gray Zone Warfare death and gear recovery to get your gear back.
